Her Majesty Charlotte Katrinsdottir, the High Queen of Uskor and Jarl of Ny-Troms addressed the people of Uskor late this evening regarding the COVID-19 (Corona Virus) pandemic.
Speaking from the locked down city of Freyavik, and flanked by huge Uskorian Merkis (flags) and an Aboriginal flag and Royal Standard, the High Queen spoke about what the Uskorian Government is doing to protect the people of Uskor.
The High Queen urged people to practice social distancing and to "wash their damn hands" and likened the struggle to a war, using imagery such as the Uskorian Merki (flag), which she also announced had been restored to it's rightful place in Uskor.
The High Queen was seen to struggle in places to read the speech.
Finishing up her speech the Uskorian monarch urged her people to follow the issued public health directives and to uphold the good, referencing Uskor's official motto.
Those public health directives include:
Fines of ƒ20,000 for Uskorians who fail to head health directives (either issued by Uskor, their doctor or the New South Wales Department of Health).
A nationwide directive to practice social distancing.
Closing of the borders to non Uskorian citizens and non Australian citizens
ID Checks and Passport checks at the border and within Uskor by the Royal Guards.
A ban on assembly and organising.
It is expected that Her Majesty's Government may issue further public health directives to protect the people of Uskor.
Prime Minister Claire Nymoria (Labour-Ny Rogaland) sought to reassure people that neither she nor the High Queen had any plans on keeping the state of emergency any longer than needed saying "We aren't going down the road Hungary is going down, democracy will flourish in Uskor".
Section 8 of the Uskorian Constitution explicitly outlines that a state of emergency can only last for 90 initial days, followed by a further 30 day extension, which must be authorised by the Lawthing (Legislative Council), the Lawthing must also vote to accept or repeal any measures put in place during the state of emergency.
The agencies leading the response are:
The Royal Guard
The Uskorian First Aid Service
The Ministry for State Security
