Constitutional Reforms given green light

The 2020 Constitutional Referendum which replaces much of the text of the current constitution has passed tonight with a 75% majority of votes.

The new constitution gives much power back to the Crown, including provisions for declaring states of emergency and alert.

The new major shift in power is the High Queen's right to legislate in her own right and to replace the Prime Minister without actually dismissing the Prime Minister.

Advocate for change and leader of the Labour Party Emil Calabresi-Halvorsen had this to say "It is clear that the Uskorian People have agreed with the Labour Party and the High Queen that constitutional reform is required to keep Uskor running, especially in these tough times".

The new constitution comes into effect from February 1 2021.
