The Torch has approached all the parties in Uskor with a series of questions regarding policy with only the Labour Party and the People's Party replying by time of publishing making the

ree

policy questions a matter of not red versus blue but red versus pink.

In the areas of economics the Labour Party led by Prime Minister Calabresi-Halvorsen is promising sweeping budget cuts and fiscal responsibility whereas the People's Party led by Charlotte Katrinsdottir has promised spending on culture and defence.

Both parties also answered very differently to the question of market economics with the Labour Party promising a socialist system and the People's Party a regulated market economy with the minimum necessary regulation and intervention.

"We cannot allow for reckless spending and spending on frivolous things, we need fiscal responsibility and socialism". - Runa Calabresi-Halvorsen
"We cannot let ourselves be lost again to the beige socialism and we cannot let ourselves rot without funding, we must support our culture and defence. I will not let Uskor's candle go out again" - Charlotte Katrinsdottir

On language policy the Labour Party responded that it was neutral on the form of Norwegian written and spoken in Uskor with the People's Party firmly in favour of Bokmål.

On the subject of the runic alphabet both parties argued in favour of the runic alpahbet

"We firmly believe that runes do not belong to racists and fascists and that the far right attempt to take Norse symbols, religion and alphabets and corrupt them to hate is condemnable and that we must combat this hateful usage and we should continue to use runes within Uskor" - Charlotte Katrinsdottir
"The Runic alphabet has a clear place in Uskor and firmly distinguishes itself from right wing use of those symbols". - Runa Calabresi-Halvorsen

The Labour Party remained neutral on the subject of the Anglish Language and the Uskorian Conlang, whilst the People's party supported the use of Anglish but not above Norwegian and advocated for the retirement of the Uskorian Conlang.

On the topic of defence, the People's Party came out and promised to arm the Home Guard with swords and create a fleet in being, whilst the Labour Party despite saying they support the poster on the wall promised significant cuts to the defence budget.

"They say they support the poster on the wall and by extension Uskor yet they wish to gut our defence force, a key part of Uskor even if we are neutral". - Charlotte Katrinsdottir
"We plan to cut funding to the Uskorian Armed Forces as we do not see the current need for a strong armed forces during a war against disease, not against man" - Runa Calabresi-Halvorsen

With regards to culture the Labour Party refused to comment with the exception of stating it's support for royal guard and fire guard so long as the cost was minimised whereas the People's Party continued support for Eurovision night and other cultural activities.

The People's Party did promise reform to Uskor's unwieldy civil defence structure.

"Having the ceremonial forces is important, however we do feel that we shouldn’t have as many and propose merging the civil defence functions into the Fire Guard." - Charlotte Katrinsdottir.

On Governmental policy the People's party urged planning to move past the COVID-19 response and to the recovery phase whilst the Labour Party again reiterated spending controls and a budget surplus.

On the topic of preparing for the upcoming danger season (storm and fire season) the Labour Party stuck to it's guns on economic responsibility, whilst the People's Party advocated education and assistance to those who needed it.
