The Minister for State Security and Emergency Services Charlotte Katrinsdottir, who is also Chief Officer of the Uskorian Civil Defence and Fire Corps has today declared a total fire ban for the entirety of the Commonwealth.

The total fire ban comes on the heals of neighbouring Australian state of New South Wales declaring a state of emergency following the unprecedented bush fire crisis in New South Wales and Victoria which has seen three fire fighter deaths and multiple civilian deaths and missing persons in addition to hundreds of homes being destroyed.

Chief Officer Katrinsdottir stated that this is a precautionary measure considering the catastrophic fire conditions predicted for this weekend and the rest of January.

Chief Officer Katrinsdottir did not rule out the Civil Defence and Fire Corps asking for a state of emergency, with Katrinsdottir stating "if the need arises we will do all we can to defend Uskorian lives should fire impact across our borders, including a state of emergency if it is necessary".

Prime Minister Claire Nymoria has urged Uskorians in Australia to heed the advice of the Rural Fire Service and follow any instructions given to them by the Rural Fire Service or other Australian authorities.

Prime Minister Nymoria also announced that her government will also be meeting with the Jarls and the High Queen to ensure that Uskorians are safe and sound no matter if they are in Uskor or

Australia.

Nymoria went on to say that the Commonwealth of Uskor will send aid to Australia through UskAid - International Aid Agency of Uskor and urged Uskorians to either donate to the New South Wales Rural Fire Service or the Australian Red Cross where possible.

Prime Minister Nymoria said that Uskor is also prepared to send members of the Royal Guard and Civil Defence and Fire Corps across the border should it be required either unilaterally or if requested.

Prime Minister Nymoria and Chief Officer Katrinsdottir paid tribute to the fallen members of the Rural Fire Service of New South Wales with Nymoria calling them "Brave men who died fighting to protect their communities." and Chief Officer Katrinsdottir saying that "these fallen firemen are testaments to the community spirit and examples of bravery and courage that the RFS is renowned for".

The Commonwealth of Uskor recognises that Uskor resides upon stolen land and recognises that Uskorian sovereignty and that of the indigenous people can co-exist, further more we recognise the genocide committed against them.
